United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has accepted Luke Lindberg as the nominee for World Food Programme leadership. Lindberg, a senior US agricultural official, was recommended by Guterres and Qu Dongyu. He currently serves as the US Department of Agriculture's Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs. The World Food Programme's top job has traditionally gone to an American nominee for decades.
