Students in France have largely returned to classrooms following days of protests demanding better education. The government has pledged to deploy 3,000 substitute teachers to affected school. While the demonstrations have been largely peaceful, some protesters have started fires and vandalised bus shelters. UN has voiced "concerns" over the occasional violent clashes.
