Mumbai’s historic Irani cafe Kyani & Co. has had its FSSAI licence suspended by the Maharashtra FDA after an inspection found rat droppings, live flies, dead cockroaches and other hygiene violations in its food preparation and storage areas. The action followed a statewide festive-season crackdown in which the FDA seized over 50 tonnes of food products and suspended licences of 30 establishments.
