A fire broke out in the medicine room of the Government Civil Hospital affiliated with the Medical College in Godhra, Gujurat. The event prompted the evacuation of more than 200 patients, including pregnant women. Firefighters and police rushed to the spot and began rescue operations. There were casualties in the incident while premilinary investigations suggest a fire from a short circuit.

The Indian Army defused 27 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) along the Shangkhalok-Pilong stretch in Manipur's Kamjong district. The route is located near the remote Pilong village along the international border with Myanmar. The security operation was conducted from October 4 to 7. The IEDs were hidden in bushes along the 8-km stretch, with sniffer dogs being employed to unearth the explosives.

Delhi Dry Days October 9–10: Delhi has declared dry days on October 9 and 10, with liquor shops ordered to remain closed amid the “prevailing” situation in the capital. More than 20,000 police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed across the city, PTI reported.
