Himanta Biswa Sarma launched the North East Seva First Innovation Challenge 2026 (NESFIC)-Ashtalakshmi for Viksit Bharat, aimed at connecting young innovators with real-world challenges faced by government departments, industries and citizens. The initiative will feature 50 challenges, with 150 startups to be shortlisted and supported through mentoring, testing opportunities and grants of up to Rs. 40 lakh for deep-tech solutions.
