The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 379.73 points, or 0.73%, to 51,448.89. The S&P 500 sank 0.94% to 7,670.67, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite dropped 1.22% to 26,737.84. Energy marked the sole S&P 500 sector trading in positive territory, benefiting directly from a fresh spike in global fuel costs.
